FALSE IMPRISONMENTS, TORTURE & DEPORTATIONS
Please take a few moments on behalf of this Israeli Soldier Also we should be asking ourselves why we so freely accept Israel's illegal imprisonments & torture of political prisoners. sources: Amnesty Int, Human Rights Watch, Lawyers for Palestinian Human Rights, Rabbis for Human Rights,

Mohammad Othman - peace campaigner, jailed to shut him up! NO CHARGES NO LAWYERS NO TRIAL NO VISITS NO JUSTICE NO PEACE IS IT ANY WONDER, when this is how the Israeli government treats the NON-VIOLENT protestors, that some people do tragically turn to violence?
Often the political prisoners are in jail without charge or trial for any crime. Visits from lawyers & even loved ones are frequently denied, or simply impossible due to curfews & traveling restricrions. Berlanty Azzam - roughed up & deported. The Israeli authorities have locked up thousands of political opponents - often in appalling conditions, often without access to lawyers or even their family and frequently without any credible trial if any trial at all. Torture is used on a regular basis. Children as young as 12 or 13 are locked up on trumped up charges of throwing stones - if they "confess" (whether they threw stones or not) they serve 3 months, if the don't confess (often to a crime they didn't commit) they are locked up for up to 2 years plus awaiting a "military trial". During an Israeli attack, armed resistance in Gaza have taken an Israeli soldier as a prisoner of war and cruelly held him hostage for about three years without any access to the Red Cross and without having committed any crime other than being part of an illegal occupying army - we plead with Hamas to try to secure a release of Gilad Shalit.
"The Bush-Blair response to the Hamas victory in 2006 is the key to today's horror. Instead of accepting the democratically elected Government, they funded an attempt to remove it by force; training and arming groups of Fatah fighters to unseat Hamas militarily and impose a new, unelected government on the Palestinians. Further, 45 Hamas MPs are still being held in Israeli jails." From The Times |
