"Politics" isn't a dirty word, only dirty politics is! We should never be coy about our politics - good politics should be the bedrock of humanity & justice.
US Bases relevant to Iran
And they are trying to say WE feel threatened by IRAN?
Britain & America initiated a Coup in 1953 to destroy the democracy in Iran and install a Dictator.
We are directly responsible through this act, along with previous & subsequent bullying & exploitation, responsible for not only whatever considerable hatred still exists towards us, but also for most of the extremism that ensued as a reaction to years of oppression by our Dictator.
We have invaded & bombed or otherwise taken control of most of their neighbours in our sick greed to steal their oil, NO WONDER they (might) want some protection!
WHY are we trying to punish them for crimes they haven't comitted and probably won't commit if only we would show them some respect & stop bullying them and meddling?
Israel already have the bomb and already committed war crimes (alleged). Many would say it is ISRAEL who should be sanctioned and who should answer for the crimes already comitted.
80% of ALL Conservative MPs are members of "Conservative Friends of Israel"
Israel & radical Zionist supporters give the Conservatives (& Labour) MILLIONS of pounds funding - naturally with (illegally) strings attached.
C4 Dispatches, Monday 16th November 2009
Richard Harrington who is the Conservative Candidate for Watford in the next General Election is also Chairman of the Conservative Friends of Israel
PLEASE, whatever you do, in the next General Election, DON'T vote for Tory or Neo-Tory, between them for over 30 YEARS (since 1979 when Thatcher got in ) the Conservatives and "New Labour" have all but wrecked this once proud and happy country. Jointly they are responsible for making the gap between the rich & the less well off, greater than it has been for FORTY YEARS! Maybe we could ask ourselves WHY do we keep voting them into power?
These "experienced politicians" who we TRUST because many of them are so EXPERIENCED (in power, corruption & lies) have done exactly what it says on the tin! - behaved like experienced (power corrupted establishment) Politicians who have dominated our political landscape since 23rd October 1922! This was when David Lloyd George resigned. At the end of the war Lloyd George's reputation stood at its zenith. A leading Conservative said He can be dictator for life if he wishes. In the "Coupon election" of 1918 he declared this must be a land "fit for heroes to live in." he also expressed sentiment about reparations from Germany to pay the entire cost of the war, including pensions. At Bristol, he said that German industrial capacity "will go a pretty long way." We must have "the uttermost farthing," and "shall search their pockets for it." Let's hope that our next new wave political leaders will make a similar demand to Israel for the full cost of reparations to the Palestinians and also the UN and individual countries for the TRILIONS their illegal occupation of Palestine has cost since 1967 (not to mention the destruction of Arab property & theft of their lands during and since1947.
ISN'T IT TIME FOR A RADICAL CHANGE? - for a people's party, who won't con us into making the super-rich even richer and more controlling at our expense.
Lets face it, NO ONE could have done much worse - we have watched the rich grow richer and the poor grow poorer as they pay to bail out the banks and then give the criminals six figure bonuses and thousands of terrorists created from the brutal oppression and crazy invasions and US/UK backed coup d'etats (the only true Democracy the Middle East ever had was that of an admirable man Maohammad Mosadeq the oil hungry Imperialist West (USA & UK CIA & MI5) didn't like him Nationalising the Iranian Oil Industry, so we deposed him and installed one of the most brutal Fascist (un-elected) Dictators in history, then we got our nickers in a twist and got all upset when (surpricse surprise) they had a revolution because they hated him and us so much - why do we keep deluding ourselves?
U.S. Demagoguery has gone mad! In the 1950s it was paranoia over "evil" communists and hatres of Blacks, today they have used the fear over the terrorists they created, funded and trained to depose the Russians in Afghanistan and other countries across our beautiful planet to justify even more Imperialist State Terrorism (far more sinister and a million times greater magnitude, than an occasional tragic suicide bomber).
Naturally (?) what happens there seems to seep into our own once independent and sometimes honourable political culture. Maybe Capitalism (selfish individuals' greed) isn't the answer. People are having their houses repossessed and suffering on medical waiting lists or from sometimes crap education, whilst the super rich get richer and richer and richer and richer. Whilst Obama maintains the billions of US tax payers dollars in "aid" to Israel, which is used directly or indirectly to fund illegal brutality and killing of civilians and to subsidise the illegal settlements which for a very brief time (until Netanyahu slapped his wrists) he hypocritically said should stop.
Every country in the world seems to say "we can't tax these wealthy playboys any more than ordinary high earners, because they would go abroad", well if every civilised country was willing to redistribute wealth to those who really needed it, then there wouldn't be any tax havens for the city fat cats to slink off to.
Let's give Lib Dems or the Green Party a chance - also please don't ever vote for any party who doesn't support Proportional Representation.
Item 4 of the Green Party Core Values states: “Electoral politics is not the only way to achieve change in society, and we will use a variety of methods to help effect change, providing these methods do not conflict with our other core principles.”
In this spirit, and in recognition of the value of Non-Violent Direct Action, conference pledges its support to the students occupying University buildings across the country, and fully endorses their campaign to demand that universities divest both from the arms trade and other organisations which directly or indirectly have financially contributed to the military and economic oppression of the people of Gaza.
Furthermore, conference condemns any universities taking disciplinary action against the occupying students who are exercising their right to protest; these students, as stakeholders in their University, have a valid right to demand that their university is investing funds ethically.
Conference thus calls for the following action to be taken: International committee and the International Coordinator to pledge support for the student campaign, and also to back our MEPs’ call for an investigation into alleged Israeli war crimes in Gaza, in particular in light of recent revelations in the press about Israeli actions in Gaza.
RIP02.1: Tackling Human Rights Violations in Israel/Palestine
(Originally passed Spring 2002 Conference)
Israel is attacking Palestinian civilians in retaliation for suicide bomb attacks by Palestinian terrorist organisations. In a microcosm of the US 'war on terror', the policy of repression has the opposite effect to the stated aim. More Palestinians are driven to become suicide bombers by the behaviour of the state of Israel. Hence the cycle of violence accelerates. Israel's current Prime Minister Ariel Sharon was the instigator of the massacre of Palestinian refugees in the Sabra and Shatila camps, arguably a war crime. Palestinians' human rights are not respected, for example they are subjected to collective punishment, do not enjoy freedom of movement, employment, or speech, and are not allowed the right of national self-determination. In such a situation of gross violation of natural justice violent acts in an attempt to achieve emancipation are almost inevitable.
As an attempt to address some of the issues that give rise to violent acts of retaliation on behalf of the Palestinians the Green Party of England and Wales resolves to:
Request the Green Group in the European parliament to produce a full report into Israel's breaches of international law;
Produce an argued case to be submitted to the Hague Tribunal that Ariel Sharon should be investigated as a war criminal as a consequence of his central role in the Sabra and Shatila massacre;
Organise a boycott of Israeli produce along the lines of the South African boycott of the 1980s.
People say conflicts and situations are "complicted"
Governments try to make stuff complicated
Governments want us to have enemies (see quote above)
Surely there is right and wrong?
A fair way to treat people and an unfair way to treat people
Most people on the planet who behave badly have been treated badly
Why can't we just say sorry to the people we have been treating badly and start treating them fairly.
So long as we create colossal "Wars on Terror" and displace millions of people (including the greater part of 10,000,000 Palestinians for the last 60 years) into refugee camps or to other countries where their basic hman rights suffer, we are only creating more people who literally hate us (USA & her lapdog supporters like Blair & Brown & Miliband and the people they "represent").
STOP THE WAR

Popular humanity says loud & clear, DO NOT renew the U.S. lease for their WMD base on these Islands which are (were) the home to thousands of indigenous British Chagossians who were brutally dispossessed between 1967 and 1971, when the entire population was forcibly removed from the islands and relocated to slums in Mauritius to make way for a joint United States-United Kingdom military base on Diego Garcia. Apparently, the displaced people received an initial funding of some £650,000 for their rehousing from the British Government, but individual islanders saw little of those funds and ended up living in slums in Mauritius. Many of the Chagosians committed suicide.
We demand that the UK restore these beautiful people to their British homeland as soon as the U.S. lease ends in 2016. Whatever the cost, it doesn't matter, restoration and maintanenace of national honour is a priceless aspiration. The citizens of the UK want to STOP feeling this national shame.
Their grief is probably of a similar colossal magnitude to that of the Palestinian diaspora, ALSO a result of British historical treachery - which COULD have been forgiven if only our leaders had the honour to see true justice done, sadly none of them ever did.

Bio: campaigns for the indigenous people of the Chagos archipelago to be allowed to return home.
Adam shows solidarity in Crawley, with some of the beautiful British Chagossian people who have been so shamefully treated by Britain.
We the undersigned call on the British Government to work with the US to immediately end the illegal occupation of the Chagos Islands. 10 of the 30 articles of the United Nations declaration of Human Rights are broken every single day. It is time for this outdated act of colonialism to end and for an exiled indigenous population to be allowed to return home.
To add insult to injury, these beautiful islands have been allegedly used not only to launch US terrorist attacks on Iraq & Afghanistan innocent civilians, but also for many other human rights abuses including rendition false imprisonment and torture of innnocent civilians. In short this sacred soil has been violated by America & the oh so perfidious Brits. Shame on David Miliband who is now championing the cause of further violation and abuse of British Chagossians' rights.
Allen Vincatassin, the man who champions islanders' rights in the UK:
"We want to be given our right to self-determination. That right is being suspended. Falkland Islanders [whites] had their rights protected by this country. The people of Gibraltar [Whites] were given the right to decide on their future. We [Blacks] want the same right."

Chagos Islands' future lies with UK: After deporting thousands of islanders, Britain threatens to ignore their wishes again by ceding the territories to Mauritius
Alex Morrison: guardian.co.uk, Monday 25 January 2010 13.00 GMT
The Chagossians have a song, "We have no identity. We have no nationality. We are an uprooted people living in abject poverty." Their identity and nationality was stolen by international necessity: the Americans needed their islands in order to control military operations in the Middle East. Now, their cause has been taken up by the liberal lobby in the UK, and their wish, "for a wonderful life, in our native land" may be granted, but only if we UP THE ANTE, PLEASE email Miliband NOW or phone the Foreign Office on 020 7008 1500 and ask for Mr Miliband & simply demand that we commit to repatriating these traumatised people in 2016 as soon as the U.S. lease expires. A report about about the people of diego garcia (a former colony of Britain) and how the 2000 some population of black people was betrayed by its government, the British government.
These people were living a peaceful life when the british government decided to deport them all unconditionally and hand the island over to the USA to be used as a MILITARY BASE!
Those who refused to leave were tortured, starved and whatever deed possible was done to evacuate them. They were then relocated in horrendous slums in Mauritius. Most of them died of hunger, disease, poverty or just depression. Whole generations uprooted and destroyed. All thanks to the righteous British and American governments.
This island today is used as a military base from where the americans have launched attacks on Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries.
