Simple black & white version - we don't need to study the history (or this website) just follow our hearts, is it right or is it wrong, if we see something which is unjust, it is our human duty to speak out as much as we can manage, offering conversational empathy or judgments on oppressors at our social gatherings with friends isn't going to change very much, we need to challenge our leaders and let them know the will of ordinary decent people - with modern technology of email, fax, online petitions etc, it has never been easier.

I just watched a progam called "Battle Scarred" which has reinforced the opinion I have since hearing the words of many people who have found themselves victims of violent conflicts across this otherwise beautiful planet.

Self interest and violent reaction never helped any human being ever.  Every action has a consequence, every violent or angry action creates ripples or sometimes a tidal wave which will echo back from any obstacles it encounters.

Most people who are involved in conflicts are deeply wounded and never recover.  Most people who are immersed in love and who are nurtured either as individuals or as groups are deeply effected in a beautiful positive way.  When (for whatever religious or ideological reason) people are treated in an unequal or unjust way for an extended period of time, most will become deeply traumatised - this tragic state will always be reflected back to others (including their children) and will upset and often ruin the lives of many more people.

All we need to do to avoid a growing violence in this beautiful and very, very wealthy world, is to realise (however greedy or needy we may feel) that sharing what we do have is the only answer.  Sure, we can't share everything, but the principle of desire to share will save us from an otherwise never ending cycle of violence and retribution.  We need to find a way to put ourselves in the shoes of the other person who we think is our enemy or our competition.

All it needs is for a few million people, maybe just 5% to 10% of the population of every country, to tell our leaders we don't want WAR, we don't want to use massive state terrorism to fight a relatively minor terrorism, which 9 time out of 10 was created by our own inappropriate actions.  We realise this sort of control, security, oppression is only causing more hatred of the powerful controlling nations.

We just need to say ENOUGH.

Let's stop trusting the polished, power corrupted sickly "experienced" politicians and vote in some new uncorrupted people, who aren't in the pockets of wealthy media, religious or business tycoons.
