Friday 11th December 2009: GREAT NEWS
The British Government have just announced new "guidance" for our supermarkets, suggesting that they should label goods produced in The West Bank as either "Settlement Goods" (illegally produced on STOLEN Palestinian land) or "Palestinian" (produced against the odds by impoverished, dispossesed and illegally occupied Palestinian farmers on the meagre fragments of what is left of their land).
PLEASE ensure you make the right choice when purchasing and AVOID preferably ALL Israeli Goods, but certainly all illegal settlement goods. It is only because directly or indirectly we have previously supported them, that the ILLEGAL and brutal Apartheid regime of illegal occupation, illegal settlements and illegal house demolition and colonisation of East Jerusalem have blossomed and become an accepted part of Israeli culture of subjugation and brutal oppression.
WHY BOYCOTT?

Diplomacy hasn't stopped the oppression, neither has armed resistance & neither have peaceful protests against the Apartheid Wall (see above). In the absence of any apparent political will from the impotent Obama who has increased funding of the Israeli Apartheid regime to over $10,000,000 per day with "no strings attached", millions of well informed people around the world, including Israelis (who believe current policy is destroying their great state or at least it's reputation) are now calling for international boycotting all Israeli goods and services. Some restrict it to only the ILLEGAL settlement goods, but we believe this is the LEAST that one should do.... not as a "mean punishment", but simply to send an unequivocal message that isn't coming across at all from our US & EU bent politicians who rely on radical Zionists' bribe money to keep them afloat and to keep them silent.
In desperation, after Obama, Brown & Abbas betrayed the Palestinian people (by advocating non-action/delayed action to the Goldtone War Crimes report at the UNHRC in Geneva), we spoke to many people, Arabs & Jews and people of various ethnicites and religions from around the world, especially in Israel and Palestine (West Bank & Gaza) before advocating this very grave but strictly non-violent action. We knew it was easy for Academics and Intellectuals to call for this action, when it will be some of the poorest workers who will be mainly affected (as well as their wealthy bosses). However we now have the clear impression that like in the South African call for Boycott Divestment & Sanctions (BDS) this call comes from people whose lives are SOOO miserable (and their brave supporters inside and outside Israel) that they feel things couldn't really be a lot worse, so millions of people around the world now endorse this action. PLEASE do your bit don't buy ISRAELI or at the moment the Mislabelled "West Bank" goods 99% of which are made ILLEGALY by ILEGAL Israeli settlers on STOLEN LAND irrigated with stolen water.

Much of the produce harvested by cheap Palestinian laborers in Israeli settlements is then exported by the company Carmel-Agrexco, which is 50% owned by the Israeli state and brought in three-quarters of a billion dollars last year alone. Anyone who claims that Israel is not profiting off of the Occupation need only take a tour of the Jordan Valley to see truck after truck of local goods being sent off to the European market.
Carmel-Agrexco boasts about getting produce from the Jordan Valley (which they often refer to as “Israel) to the United Kingdom in 24 hours, when it takes Palestinians three times as long just to get it through checkpoints. Israel has consistently prevented Palestinians from exporting their own produce, so it rots on its way from one village to another, while Europeans enjoy fresh “Israeli” citrus and avocados and the Israeli state’s stocks rise.

Jonathan Cook (a British Journalist of the hightst calibre, who lives in the Arab-Israeli town of Nazareth) explained it well when he said: "It is a hugely important development in the struggle for Palestinian self-determination. Certainly I think its moment has arrived.
This is a Palestinian grass-roots initiative that cannot be bought off by Israel in the way the Fatah leadership was bought off by Oslo. It empowers Palestinians by allowing them to set the scope and agenda of their struggle, such as by demanding that artists respect their call not to perform in Israel. It offers a practical way for people outside the region to show solidarity with the Palestinian struggle by heeding that call and thinking creatively about how to implement BDS in their own countries. In the controversy and debate it generates it offers a chance to engage and educate those who are at the moment only vaguely aware that there might be a problem here. And if BDS gains more momentum, it could really harm the Israeli economy. In fact, in my view there is no way to end the occupation unless Israelis are made to see that they will pay a heavy price for its continuation. The US could do that overnight by withdrawing its huge subsidies to Israel. I’m not holding my breath. Instead BDS gives all of us the power to show Israel that the occupation does not pay."
Goods to avoid (if they have a label saying "ISRAEL" or "WEST BANK") just about the only ethical West bank produce coming into the UK is under the Zaytoun label.
Potatoes, Capsicums, FRESH HERBS, Dates, Cherry Tomatoes, Avocados, Citrus Fruit inc. JAFFA Oranges & Grapefruits), Carmel-Agrexco goods, Binymina wine & Yarden Wine from the illegally occupied Golan Heights mislabeled in Tesco as "Wine of Israel" (Golan Heights is NOT Israel)
We have VERY good reason to believe that these herbs (photos below) were in fact grown on STOLEN LAND, NOT in Israel but in The West Bank, and are being sold fraudulently by the Israeli supplier and on to us by the UK supermarket Waitrose. Waitrose refuse to discuss the issue which makes us assume their complicity, though as with Israel and their War Crimes (suspected) in Gaza, by refusing to cooperate with any investigation, that makes it harder for the courts and journalists to prove the truth. I confess even though I advocate BDS, I inadvertently purchased this Jaffa Grapefruit from Waitrose recently, it's so easy to do if you lose concentration. Ironically it was on a day that I watched a beautiful little 10 year old Palestinian girl saying in tragic graphic detail that she didn't want peace with the "Jews" (Israelis), because they had killed her mummy and daddy.
In our opinion (UKFPI) this label clearly illustrates how Israeli settler businesses are cheating the British consumer by trying to fool us that this product has been produced by Palestinians in the West Bank. We feel sure it was produced by illegal settlere possibly using some Palestinian "slave labour" on stolen Palestinian land.
were they REALLY produced in ISRAEL - with so much cheating and distortion of the truth how can we trust this label? When Waitrose refuse to discuss their customers ethical concerns, how can we believe a label?
Israel or West Bank?
We can't advocate flyposting, but many people are doing it with stickers and posters to raise awareness about the British & U.S. funded and supported insidious Genocide in Gaza. Doesn't it warm your heart though to see people saying NO to state terrorism?
If you accidentally pick up some Israeli produce, please call the manager of the supermarket & politely ask WHY they are supporting Apartheid Israel? We did it with Apartheid South Africa and IT WORKED.

Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions (ICAHD) now estimates that 24,145 houses have been destroyed in The West Bank, East Jerusalem & Gaza since 1967 - this was reported in 2009 before the latest vicious wave of Ethnic Cleansing.
